The weekend was lots of fun. On Saturday we went to the San Diego zoo and yesterday we went to the beach. Since it rained a little on Saturday there was a rip tide and the waves were really strong, but it was still lots of fun anyway. Speaking of rain, it rained this morning :( Today in class we started working when all of a sudden we had a power outage which kept us from logging in to our computer accounts until around 10:00. After the computers were up and running again, we worked a lot on our final projects. My group finished the first 1:25 of our movie, but we need more footage before we can add anything else. And here is also a picture of Joe riding the Segway from our fieldtrip on Thursday because I forgot to put a picture in on Friday.

Yesterday (thursday) we went to the Media Center to visit the blue screen. My group did not need to film anything there so we went to the scientific communications class where we learned more about what we are doing for our final project and Melissa gave us a powerpoint presentation about poker. After lunch we went on our fieldtrip to the robotics lab and got to ride on a segway!!! The fieldtrip was so much fun although the hour long walk there was not. Today we made random pictures and then made them into a collage. Mine is the picture above.

Today is Wednesday (12 days untill my birthday). Yesterday we had a discovery lecture about the adaptations of beach mice and then went to our scientific communications class where we continued with our presentations. Katie taught us about folklore, and Forrest and I gave a presentation on sugar. After lunch we went to Petco park.....it was sooooo much fun. We got to pretend we were the ones who were running the jumbotron during a real game (we used pre recorded footage). I was the one who was in charge of replays, which means that whenever a good play happened, I got to edit the footage to make it slower, and then replay it. Afterwards we got to go onto the field (we passed by the locker room) and sit in the dugout. At night we made pinatas (paper mache). Today we heard a lecture from Beth about how to make an image look brown (sepia), turn a picture into its negative, and how to make a picture black and white. Then Roshni told us how to make a collage out of different pictures. Then we went to the lab and tried to program what we learned. In the afternoon Paul taught us how to get rid of backgrounds in Premiere and how to set a new color.

Over the weekend we went to Balboa Park (yaaaay). Although it was hot, it was still lots of fun. On Sunday it was family visitation day and I saw Click (that Adam Sandler movie) with Neil and Maddie. Today in class we had a lecture with Beth on how to scale an image. We also reviewed how to mirror an image horizontally and vertically. After lunch we worked on our mini project videos. After we turned them in at 3:15, we watched them all together as a class. My groups was a brief (1:00) history about soccer narrated by Mindi Miller. Tomorrow we are getting video cameras for our fieldtrip to Petco Park and tonight is the beach bonfire!!!!

Yesterday we had a discovery lecture in the morning. We heard Neil Driscoll (I dont know if I spelled his name correctly or not) speak to us about tsunamis, and how we will probably never experience one. After lunch we went to college info day. We heard from representatives of UCSD (big surprise), CSUSan Marcos, and USD. People from the Princeton review and the financial aid department also talked to us about how to get into college. At night the activity was karaoke (yaaaay...even though i cannot sing it was still very funny). I am still in the game of gotcha and I know who is after me so that is good, although I think the person I am after knows that I am after her. Anyway, this morning Roshni gave us a lecture about rotating pictures in the JES programming system. We were also informed of our groups for the final projects. My grouop includes Forrest, Mike, Nestor, and myself. Now we are working on mini projects in our groups.....more tomorrow!!!

Today in the morning Christine gave us a lecture about how to "mirror" parts of a picture onto other pictures using the jython programming language. We had lots of fun trying to figure out what programs work and which did not work by submitting our ideas on the tablet pc's. Afterwards we went down to the lab to try out the skills we learned. Then we had lasagna for lunch. Now we are updating our blogs and working on our powerpoint presentations for our scientific communication class with Lara tomorrow!!!!

Ok, so today we found out what our two field trips are for next week. We are going to this robotic lab on campus on thursday and on tuesday we are going to petco park to see how they program their big sign thing. Today we also had a discovery lecture about diabetes and a sensor that checks blood glucose levels without drawing any blood. Then we went to our scientific communications class with Lara where I had to give a 3 minute presentation on lithospheric deformation (earthquakes) with GQ. After lunch (cheese enchiladas and toquitos) Joe taught us more in depth functions of a slide rule and now we have free time in the lab. Tonight we are having a jello fight and a floor party!!!

Today we learned a little more about how to change colors of pictures...i made kermit blue. and then we also learned how to use the premiere video editor. I would post my video but for some reason it wont let me. Anyway, I have to give a presentation tomorrow with GQ about lithospheric deformation. We had our first somewhat good meal last night... Thanksgiving dinner with turkey, chicken strips, pumpkin pie, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and mashed potatoes.

HI!!! Today we learned how to program pictures to change colors. I made a beach look red (like a sunset) and I started to turn Kermit blue. I also made a really cool extraterrestrial beach that is completely green and blue (seen to the left).

Today (Thursday) we had a discovery lecture about dark matter and dark energy in the morning. Then, after lunch, we had a lecture with Joe who taught us how to use a slide rule. For some reason I forgot to write something yesterday (wed), so here is what we did: In the morning we had a lecture with Christine who taught us the basics of computer programming and had us act out different parts of a computer program. In the afternoon we learned our way around photoshop (yaaay) and made a really cool vegetable head.

Hi everyone. I am not really sure if this is my second post or first because my blog page wasn't really working yesterday. Anyway, today we went to a discovery lecture about whether robots can think like humans or not. After that we had our science communications class where we talked about thesis statements and other things that I currently cannot remember. And that is all.
